Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC) was proud to be named a finalist in the Education, Training & Jobs Social Enterprise of the Year category at the prestigious Social Enterprise UK Awards 2025.
This recognition celebrates BBMC’s leadership in inclusive employment and its commitment to combining commercial excellence with deep social impact. As part of Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) social enterprise network, BBMC creates long-term careers for Armed Forces veterans and people with disabilities and currently employs more than 100 individuals, over 70% of whom are from these priority groups.
BBMC’s employment model generates more than £1.2 million in social value each year, and with a £12.5 million expansion underway—including a purpose-built manufacturing facility and dedicated Training Academy—that figure is set to rise significantly. The new site will increase production capacity, introduce new service lines, and offer accredited training routes for individuals facing complex barriers to work.
The Training Academy is expected to support up to 100 learners annually, while the expansion could create up to 80 new jobs, further strengthening BBMC’s national impact.
“This finalist status reflects the heart of BBMC’s mission,” said Colin Harsant, Director of RBVE’s Social Enterprise. “We’re proud to show that high-quality manufacturing and inclusive employment can go hand in hand, and that purpose-led business can drive real, lasting change.”
It was fantastic to attend the Social Enterprise UK Awards ceremony in November and celebrate alongside so many inspiring organisations. We were especially pleased to see National Highways recognised as a finalist in the Buy Social category. BBMC is proud to partner with them on signage, demonstrating how collaboration can deliver both commercial quality and social value.
